As we continue to grow across our two sites at the Woolmer Trading Estate in Bordon, Hampshire, we are now looking to recruit an Apprentice Valeter / Detailer to join our workshop team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to begin their career in the automotive industry. You’ll receive full professional training with AutoGlym, gaining certification across their entire programme. With further experience, you'll also have the opportunity to develop skills in SMART (Small to Medium Area Repair Techniques) and progress within the business.

Some duties on a day to day basis may include:

This is a hands-on and varied role within our fast-paced, friendly workshop team. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the appearance and presentation of customer vehicles to the highest standards, both inside and out. This includes detailing, valeting, paintwork preparation, and more.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Vehicle Valeting and Detailing

• Service wash, cleaning, polishing, and protecting vehicle interiors and exteriors using professional-grade products and techniques.
• Preparing vehicles for customer collection or display to the highest visual standards.

Digital Engagement

• Capturing video or photographic updates for customer communications (training provided).
• Supporting our commitment to transparency and customer engagement through digital tools.

Customer Service Support

• Liaising with the service team to ensure vehicles are prepared on time.
• Helping to deliver a consistent and exceptional customer journey.

Workshop and Team Collaboration

• Working alongside our technicians, service advisors, and parts team to ensure every job is completed efficiently and to our high standards.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about vehicles, takes pride in their work, and is ready to take their first steps into the automotive industry. You’ll be enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and eager to learn – with a positive attitude and strong sense of responsibility.

• Reliable, punctual, and well-organised
• Full UK driving licence preferred (or working towards)

ADDITIONAL TRAINING PROVIDED:

Training is a key part of this role and fully supported throughout your time with us.

• You will receive complete professional training through AutoGlym, covering their entire valeting and detailing programme
• Further development into SMART repair techniques for cosmetic vehicle restoration
• One-to-one training in-house and access to real-time learning alongside our experienced team
• Clear development pathway within the business, with opportunities to move into service, detailing, or bodywork roles over time
• Supportive, hands-on guidance in a fast-paced, friendly workshop environment

THE NUMBERS:

Hours of work;

Monday > Friday 8:00am > 5:30pm

Closed Bank Holidays

Closed Weekends

Salary range (Depending on experience);

 > Aged 16-18, or in the first year of apprenticeship (any age): £5.50 per hour.​

 > Aged 19 or over, after the first year: Standard National Living Wage for their age group.​

For a typical 42.50 hour workweek, this equates to approximately £12,500 annually for first-year apprentices under 19.
